Introduction To Dystopian Literaure
A dystopia can be defined as a society characterized by human misery, oppression, overcrowding, squalor, or disease. A dystopia is often characterized as a futuristic, imagined universe in which there is a largely oppressive control on society and the illusion of a perfect society carried out by totalitarian, corporate, bureaucratic, technological, or moral control. Dystopias are intentionally exaggerated "worst case" scenarios. They intended to make criticisms on political and social norms and trends.
